Do you believe in aliens?

My friend Vincent believes in aliens, and I've been trying really hard not to say they probably don't exist. If you believe in aliens, no offense. I mean no harm towards people that do believe in aliens.

No (I don't believe in aliens either) 10

the universe is constantly expanding and with infinite galaxies and planets there must be some sort of life form out there, whether it's mere small microorganisms or creatures that are on the same intelligence as us or higher. the universe is assumed to be 13.8 billion years old and the earliest fossils of human kind are determined to be only 200,000 years old. how many billions of years does that give a head start to a life form that may have evolved earlier than us? they would be many years ahead of us to evolve and grow as a race.

i highly doubt we'd ever meet a life form that is intelligent as us or higher however, as again the universe is such a large place you'd be looking for a needle in a haystack.

If everything here came from outer space, why would life develop here and nowhere else in the entire universe? So yes.

I believe that life exists somewhere out there other than planet Earth. I do not believe that alien life has ever come to Earth.

If we are the only intelligent beings in the whole universe which is you know beyond infinite then that would be beyond fucked up.

I think that there is a great probability that there are other kinds of intelligence and living being out there. We know so little about the universe. Everything is possible and I tend to think that yes, maybe the earth is not the only planet hossting life.

I hope aliens don't exist, but the Universe is supposedly infinite, and that's pretty freaking big. So mostly I'm hoping that the only aliens are the ones I see in the movies.

Why would they do that? If they have the technology to come here from lightyears away, surely they have mastered robotics and farming... They would contact us to make new allies, or simply out of curiosity.

Even stealing our water is stupid, cause you can get water from any hunk of rock that has ice in it. Easier to do so, without any resistance.

That sounds an awful lot like what Native Americans probably thought about the white man. Oh they’re just curious! They want to be allies, let’s trade with them and make them dinner. That worked out great for them.

If they want our water, odds are they want a planet to live on, and hunks of rock with ice in them don’t provide that.

They’d probably look at us the same way we look at the thousands of animal species we’re carelessly driving to extinction...actually that might just be the best case scenario, not the likeliest.

The universe is not infinite. There are 10¹¹ galaxies X 10¹¹ stars per galaxy. To impress your boyfriend, Google up the Drake equation. It is a mathematical model that quantifies the probability of alien life.

When you are finished talking about that, try to convince him that we should be engineering microbes to live in the cool upper atmosphere of Venus. Tell him Planet Earth should become a factory to populate the galaxy with life. He will love your ideas.

I really wish people would clarify when they talk about aliens, if they’re talking about life anywhere in the universe or that life visiting Earth. Because there’s almost certainly life outside of our planet and solar system, but it’s very unlikely that it’s

I don't 100% believe in aliens, but I believe that it seems likely enough that I could answer yes. I don't think any of the alien sightings people report are real, but I think in such a large universe, they've got to exist, intelligent or not. Most if not all aliens would probably be unintelligent, or not much more intelligent than us.

They jumped down my throat at work because I said I don't believe in aliens; that only gullible idiots believe in that kind of nonsense. (They were speaking about sentient/malevolent Aliens, not possible DNA on another planet).

But I still said it. And I'll say it again whenever anyone brings it up.

Don't be afraid to speak your mind, people take that as a sign of weakness.

If you mean aliens on some distant planet somewhere, then yes. If you mean UFO aliens, then no.

As long as you don't mock him for believing in them though, he'd have no reason to get offended. It should be a fun topic to talk about regardless of your opinion on it.

I'm certain we are not alone. Heck, we may have already even made contact. Just the governments are keeping it a secret, to keep panicky people under control. After all, humanity has been pumping out radio waves for quite some time. It's possible for an exploration vessel, or probe to detect something.

If we haven't made contact, I do hope whoever is president of the US and Russia, keeps it in their pants and doesn't start an interplanetary war... Cause Star Wars seems cool on screen, but won't be in real life.
