Do you allow your spouse/bf/gf to have friends of the opposite gender?

Do you allow your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, or whatever you call them to have friends of the opposite gender? I ask because I know people that don't allow it and they say stuff like the opposite gender can't be friends or that they're only friends because one had feelings for the other one or is trying to sleep with them. It sounded ridiculous to me.

    Only relationships that don't have solid trust would put restrictions like that.

    Allow? Ha! My partner would not be a servant.

    Your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wife, or whatever will have relationships with whoever they want regardless what you say. The more you try to stop it, the more intimate their relationships will become with other people.

    I make no such demands on my wife. She may have friends of either gender if she pleases.
    There are only two things she is not allowed to do;
    She is not allowed to get hurt, and she is not allowed to fall over the side when we are underway.
    The penalty for the first can be quite severe, living as we do in the 3rd world, in many places with less than stellar health care.
    The penalty for the second is likely death, by drowning.

    Allow? It isnt for me to decide who my husband is or is not friends with. How silly. Thats asking for a bad relationship.

    Allow? HAHAHA!!! I would prefer that any future significant other not be bosom buddies with someone of the opposite sex, but basically I'm powerless over whether or not a potential future soul mate should decide to have female friends.

    I think if someone were to tell me I wasn't "allowed" to have a certain type of friend then I would have to tell that person, " see you, wouldn't wanna be ya". I don't take orders like that.

    I would not be in a relationship where there was an issue of either of us "allowing" the other to do anything at all.

    I don't mind if a woman want's to have male friends so long as that relationship is appropriate and platonic . If they don't engage in any behaviour that would upset me or I deem inappropriate then it shouldn't matter the sex as long as he is a good friend to her . I will say though , I would keep my eye on them and do a little investigating from time to time if I feel off about it . This isn't because I am being obsessive or a jerk who doesn't trust my lady , I just know that no matter how much you think you know a person ... emotions can change that when manipulated or affected by unexpected experiences . I would just want to make sure everything is of the norm and no lying or cheating is happening because you cant trust them to admit it . I would tell someone if they ever cheat , I wont give them grief but just please admit it so I can move on BUT most people wouldn't admit to it so they can keep you . I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with someone who was unfaithful or had their heart in another place! If I truly trusted the partner with all my heart in the world I probably wouldn't care at all or think anything of it until I saw a red flag some day .

      By using lots and lots of ductape to insure that they cant see the opposite gender... If they escape, you're not doing it right.
