Do poeple try to take you down a peg when your are good looking?

Hi,

I am a good-looking men but not cocky. There is a think in my life, which is driving me crazy. It happens to me once in a week when I am on my own mostly sitting in a coffeshop or in a Imbiss. I act confident but how a said not cocky. I am friendly to the Waitress order my stuff and take a short look to locate a free table and sit down. But now what I noticed : When there are women (age ranges between 20 - 50 but often younger women) they begin to talk about me in a loud voice so that i can hear it and beginn to insult me. They try all stuff to put me down they search for flaws in my appearence and when they realise it has no effect on me they start to talk that i am gay (I am manly though how i act and look and i am NOT gay). So my question is this normal to happen for a good looking young men ?

I would appreciate helpful answers :)

I do think some people do get people trying to put them down if they are attractive, especially if they accept they are attractive and are confident in their appearance, however I think the pros are better than the cons of it.

For example, when I first started showing my appearance on here I would get complimented, even got dubbed "angel" by one of the old regulars. As the time progressed I started getting hooked on my looks and became more confident in my appearance (I wasn't that good looking when I was younger), so I was proud in it, and now a few will try and insult me on my appearance due to me being proud of it.

So I definitely think it can result in people not being happy for you being happy in your appearance.

But oh well.

  The pros are definitely better the the cons! But its a kind of disturbing, but i guess they are not comfortable with theirselfs so they try to pull you down on their level...

Sounds like over active paranoia. I just can't imagine total strangers giving two shits about you or even noticing you, let alone you making such an impression that they would feel the need to ALL be talking about you at once. It must get pretty damn noisy wherever you go, at least in your mind.

  I am pretty sure its no '' paranoia'' and i never said All people talk about me its once a week but i hear good comments to like '' he is so cute'' or '' beatiful men'' no i am pretty sure its no paranoia. And its not always to complete group which is talking only one or two who wants convince the other how BAD i am sad but true...and no its not getting noisy in my head and if i had paranoia i would hear them '' talk'' when i listen to music. But one thing is sure i get noticed everywhere i go

    Yeah don't mind that guy and his loser fans. He is exactly the type you are describing; he foams at the mouth over men who are better than him, which is 99% of the time since he is ugly (inside and out) and a bitter piece of shit about it.

Sometimes people hate you because you are good looking or nice, or well liked. I had a job where this mean old sea hag was a manager and she was very mean to any girl who was young and pretty, even her own niece! She always hated me because I was pretty and nice while she was disliked (her own fault). I left that job a while ago but I heard she pissed of some goth chick and she got called a "drunk ass fugly raccoon" to her face. Wish I could have been there.

just tell these girls that you think they are ugly. then they will stop. or say they look fat or somthing. It also helps just to think that the girls look ugly, because girls can somehow read a mens mind. or they can feel it. id dont know correctly how they do it but, try it. think about how ugly these girls are then they will stop

  this my friend would make them raging insecure women and end in endless exchange of insults. They would go on with this behavoir with the next guy who catches their eye. I wouldn't do a favor to mans-world :)

They could very well be pissed off that you don't notice them. Hence them calling you gay. It's like saying "If he doesn't notice me, he must be gay." There's a chance they try to get you to pay attention to them, but you simply give them a small nod and think "Why are they staring at me?" They take it as rejection.

  You're quite right there. I've gone through that myself a few times. Worst case was whn a girl put her hand on my crotch (I somewhat knew her but not a whole lot, just familiar with her) and I moved her hand away and she just assumed I was gay because of it.
  
  Apparently some women don't realize that men aren't the cliche vagina hunters on TV that wants every single female's attention. Lol.
