Do people where you live say hello in the street?
I live in a small city in northern Ireland and whenever I talk to someone who is visiting here they always comment on how people sometimes say hello in the street while walking past. I have lived in England as well and no one says hello unless they know you.
In your home town, if you are walking along an otherwise empty street and someone walks past, do people usually acknowledge each other or just ignore each other and walk past?
Is it just a small town thing or what?
