Do people really go on dates?

Is it normal to believe that dating is a myth? Is it just an idea portrayed in American films? It just seems so weird and alien. Hmm.

It seems unnatural, yes. More natural would be that couple meets at work, on a bus stop etc. and seeing they are compatible they become friends first (instead of dating basically unknown person which is so artificial).

Friendship can be instead of dating (with no strings attached, everything natural).

Dates don't exist, neither do people. The only real thing is the internet and your computer.

They aren't as common in college but they do happen. Today, I feel like most relationships usually just evolve into relationships and the philosophy is to "just let it happen". But I have been on a couple of dates and it's not completely dead.
