Do normal people get obsessed with nintendo

Sometimes I wonder if I'm autistic and I know this isn't an actual symptom but it seems like many autistic people are obsessed with Nintendo. As a kid I was obsessed with Pokemon. As a teen I was obsessed with Animal Crossing. As an adult I am obsessed with Legend of Zelda (I posted all the questions about it before). I don't feel this is normal but I'm wondering if normal people can be like this - I mean seriously obsessed, playing 10000 hours over 3 years, making parallels of the games to real life, fantasizing about them all day long so that you don't focus on reality, etc. do you think I'm autistic or is this normal.

Normal adults get obsessed that much with Nintendo games 8
Normal adults like Nintendo but not that much 13
Autistic people like Nintendo a lot 4
Not even autistic people are like that 1
Other 1

Having narrow interests is definitely a part of having autism. The intensity of your Legend of Zelda interest certainly seems like it would match the description of an autistic person's narrow interest.

But autism isn't just about having narrow interests. As for whether or not you have autism, it also depends on whether or not you have other symptoms. Do you have difficulty in social situations? Any repetitive motion behaviors (hand flapping, finger tapping, etc.)? Difficulty with loud noises, bright lights, etc.? Do you struggle with more subtle and nonverbal aspects of communication (being unable to read facial expressions or body language)? Those are all questions to consider when trying to figure out if you may have autism.

Although, you really can't know for sure unless you are diagnosed by a professional.

However, regardless or whether or not you are able to be screened for it, reading books on the subject may help you. I recommend "The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome" by Tony Attwood.

Fuck video games. I think I played Pac-Man like twice in the 1980s. I've always had exactly zero interest in video games.
