I seem to only attract men I'm not attracted to or those who just want casual sex and not long term, do people here think it's because I am a size 18? I am quite attractive face wise and been told I have nice eyes and smile.
Can I ever find the kind of intelligent caring and reasonable looking man I am after?? Or am I shooting too high?
I am 55 in a few days.

Coming from a skinny 18 year old, I wish I could find guys who want casual sex/no commitment! Almost every guy I know is looking for a relationship and/or thinks casual sex is slutty.
Anyways, plenty of men are attracted to larger women! And wanting someone intelligent, caring, and decent looking is NOT shooting too high. Don't let your age stop you from finding a good guy either!!
I think you should talk to some friends and see if they know anyone who might be interested, or seek out some guys on your own and go out on a few dates. At your age I'd say it's best to be real with men and let them know exactly what you're looking for. (If you wanna settle down, let them know!)
Also my mom is 58, and I appreciate that you're still out there trying to find a nice guy. I wish I could say the same for my mom. :( She has given up entirely.
I am inclined to agree with Atlantis. If you want to attract better quality of men. you yourself have to be of higher quality.
This is what I have noticed. There are men who love big women BUT there are MORE big women THAN men who love them. I had a big, beautiful friend who told me that she was going to become the most fashionable, charming big woman in town. It worked. She's married now.

Im 38 & ive been there being overweight & ive learned that u have to b happy alone b4 u can b happy with a man. Plus, if u can just talk to them as if theyre a friend & not in that context helps. you can never anticipate love. When u stop anticipating is when u will find him!

Why wouldn't you do what it takes to lose weight so you can attract better quality guys if that's what you want?
I realize everyone is different but ask yourself this:
Would you rather be dating a fat guy who's a couch sloth or would you rather be dating a guy that's in great shape?
Sex is much better when your partner is in great shape.
Also it's much more of a turn on for most people.
A lot of men like bigger women. I know someone who was big and she lost a lot of weight and got down to what was a healthy weight. And her husband left her for another big woman.
