Do most people want to change something about their appearance?

If a person can afford it, and they feel it would positively impact their self image, should they go under the knife for a minor procedure?

It IS, without question, vain but how many of you would if you could?

  • For myself: No.

However, it doesn't bother me that other people do it.

  • The ONLY thing I'm ever going to get fixed will be the stretch marks on my boobs and laser hair removal. & I'm thinking lasic eye surgery, for my convenience. Other than that, I feel i'm perfect for myself.

I, personally, would not. I even stopped coloring my hair recently just so I learn to love myself for what I really am. I only use my push ups when I am in the mood and have learned to love my bare face instead of the one I could put on with make up. Surgery is out of the question for me. Being unique is beautiful and honestly what is normal? Why should society and the media tell everyone who doesn't look like the airbrushed celebrities that we need to look a certain way? We were all made a certain way, we are born perfected. This is they way we are supposed to be ALREADY. Naturally. I wish more people loved themselves and not for the person they want to be after going under the knife.

I'm very jealous, I wish I could shake vanity, I think it's sick and unhealthy of me to want to change so much, but every time I see a skinny pretty girl, I feel like I have to change. I'd say it's natural, but I don't think it's a good thing.

I hate most of the flaws on my body. I have to say that people see more flaws on themselves than anyone else.

If everyone got to change anything, then they would see more flaws until even the things they don't need to change are changed.

I wouldn't. I mean, I could loose a few pounds, and I always told myself a boob job would be nice, but nah.

Yes, most people would. I haven't done anything huge- just a few small changes but i'm happy I did them.

I also say no to any surgery with knife.
I prefer to purchase my favorite fashion clothes and chic shoes with these money aimed to do surgery. Such as the Christian Louboutin.

Low self image caused by advertising and media causes it.

I think that it is only a temporary fix for a bigger problem. That problem won't go away because of minor surgery, it'll probably get worse.

  • It's like cheating. You may be better looking but it's not like you are naturally good-looking. I feel like people who do it are shallow and have too much time on their hands. To spend that much time examining how much you hate your nose or boobs when you could actually be making a difference in the world is beyond me.
