Do i take my daughter into the men's or women's public restroom?

I'm 20 and a single father and my daughter is almost 4, I live in the Bronx so it's off the table to let her go to the bathroom alone.

I'm nervous about going into the men's room with her because she's mixed and I'm white, so I get a lot of comments and harassment about it. Plus I don't trust men. And I'd be too quick to start a fight with my daughter around.

I can't really go into a women's restroom because I feel like I'd be yelled at or pepper sprayed.

What should I do?

    Women's room, always. Locate a female employee and tell her your daughter needs to use the restroom. Ask if she can escorts you two there and if it would be alright for you to help her or if she could help your daughter while you wait outside.

    I'd yell in to the ladies room to make sure no one is in there then send your daughter in and wait by the door. If she needs help in there then I'd go in. Don't live in New York but I would hope most women would understand the situation

    Is she really grown up for her age to trust another woman taking her potty ?
    Ask a female store employee to take her in the womens bathroom.

    My dad always took me into the men's room, but first he always made sure no one was in there and would lock the door so no one would come in.

    well you should take her into the mens room because thats what my dad did with me and my sister and my mom took me into the ladies room. it really depends on who the child is with at the moment. on that aspect, if there is a family restroom take her in there

    At that age i think the adult is the deciding factor, so if you cant get a women to take her to the restroom you should take her into the guys room
