I think that maybe you do need help. If it bothers you then I would get help. Having flashbacks of something traumitizing is normal, but I would seek help though, just to get your life on track again.

I watched my two brothers die twelve years ago and still dream about it. To answer the question is it normal? Id have to ask how often this dream occurs. For me, twelve years later, I have the dream approximately once a month. In the months initially following the event the dreams were much more frequent. Given that the event was four years ago, I ask, how frequently does this dream occur?

  • it's totally normal. Near death experiences are milestones in your life and very traumatic ,and i dont think you ever forget them. Certainly your subconcious doesn't.

I've had more than one such experience myself, including nearly drowning in the ocean 10 years ago.

But if it is really bothering you and disturbing your sleep or anything else seriously in your life, you should see a shrink.

  • Nearly dieing must be pretty scary it would take a long time for you to get over it wouldnt hurt to seek some professional advice. Have you been able to go back in the water since then

I wouldn't say it's abnormal. It was a tramatic time for you.
