Do i have ocd?

Are these things normal or do I have OCD? So, where to start... I've always had weird things I felt like I had to do for as long as I can remember. Different things for different places. In my bedroom, I have to check under the bed and in the closet multiple times before crawling in bed. Then check a few times more again after puting my phone down and going to sleep. At my computer, I have to press the caps lock on off on off on off watching the light to make sure it still works, and the speaker bass I usually have off. I have to turn that all the way up and listen to make sure it works, Then off... Maybe it broke while I was switching it off... One more time all the way on... and off... That didn't feel right. On and off. You get the idea. If i'm about to go to sleep, I check my alarm before going to bed. hmm, maybe one more time. Yup 6:00 AM tomorrow morning all set. So I'll set my phone down. Maybe I should check it one last time... and these tasks carry on like that. Sometimes I'll get hot and sweaty and frustrated while doing these things because they are so annoying. If I go to the bathroom, I find myself going back again to check if I flushed I will check the toilet maybe three times. Do I have OCD? I have never been checked or anything like that.

You probably have OCD if you think you do. If it matters it's a sign of intelligence. Just stop giving in to it as much as you can cause the more you do it the worse it gets.

Seeking out professional help is always recommended because its never going to hurt anything but your wallet. However Wistful Maiden makes a great point in the fact that medicines will only help so much. You have to tame your mind because no one else or nothing else can do it for you. The doctors and counselors will be able to help a lot but you have to deside when it will stop. Please let us know how things go. I will be watching out for your posts. Training your mind to be strong is a very hard thing to do. The Buddists are very good at it and you can add your own belief system to it if you wish. Good luck and I will be praying for you.

I normally don't say this on here, because this particular disorder is very trivialized and when someone on here claims to have it I tend to not believe them or think they probably have a misunderstanding of what it actually is. Many kids think or want to say they have some kind of mental disorder because they think it makes them look cool/different.

What you have is definitely obsessive compulsive disorder, no doubt whatsoever. If it is getting so bad to the point where it is interfering with other things in your life, go visit a psychiatrist.
