Do i go ahead with my marriage even though the horoscopes dont match ?

Here is my Story.

My girl and me met on a matrimonial site last year and both of us liked each other a lot. We connected on call before our parents could proceed it further. I passed on the proposal to my parents and so did she to her parents as per the usual marriage process. There came the twist, her parents checked the horoscope compatibility and alas, it does not match one bit. Her mom communicated the same to my mom, by then it was close to 3 weeks where I was totally in love for the girl and so was for her.

Due to my interest, my parents was forcefully asked by me to check the horoscopes again, but again the horoscopes did not match. On top of the not matching piece, the astrologers also mentioned that myself or her would die in the 7th year post marriage, and was certain. Further 6 other astrologers mentioned the same.

We were way to into it by then, and now cannot break up. My parents are totally against it, but her parents are fine to get us married until recently after waiting for close to 1 year for my parents to reach out to her parents.

My parents would not just budge to anything. My girl's (without her interest) engagement with another guy was fixed for the Feb 24TH, however she sent out a mail to the guy and got it cancelled out. Now again in a month's time, her parents have found another guy for her and her engagement is fixed for 30th April, she would not be able to call this off, since her parents have threatened her of them suicide if she does anything to stop the wedding...

We both are in terrified state and are not sure on what to do. Is eloping the only option ??

That was also my first response, but if you read it properly it's the parents who are fucked in the head about astrology, not OP or the person h/she wants to marry.

I read it properly. Seems you didn't. And you don't even have the cataracts to blame for your lack of comprehension.

Nowhere does it say the young couple believe in these stupid astrological predictions, it's the parents who are the problem

Actually this is all correct and normal. However, whole message must be read out loud in genuine Indian accent, then it sounds correct and totally not insane. I swear,

It really doesn't matter. All are delusional, craziness rules the future of believers.

Astrology is supposed to give a person some kind of power over their future.

But in fact the opposite is usually true - astrology produces a fear in people about their future and puts them into self-fulfilling prophecies of doom.

In your case: "the astrologers also mentioned that myself or her would die in the 7th year post marriage". It's fear mongering, an evil scheme.

Astrology is mostly about fear, therefore it is a kind of spiritual bondage on the person.

I used to be one of those people - but no more. I went cold turkey on anything to do with astrology about 10 years ago and have never looked back. You can do the same.

I suspect you may be Indian?

They're threatening suicide if she doesn't marry some guy she hardly knows?! There are bigger problems here than horoscopes not matching up.

I lived in Asia for a long time and have friends who have faced this sutuation.
There should be culturally knowledgeable counselors who can advise you. Call a helpline and you can get a number of where to call.
Or go to a temple where no one knows you.
It is your life. You need to have 99% say in the rest of your life.
I have a vietnamese friend who hopes his mom dies before he graduates because she thinks he is studying to be an engineer. He's really studying film production.
    How sad.
You won't get the problem solved by eloping. Your parents will think you disrespect them even more than now. Try to find help, and support from your future inlaws. If all else fails, fly to Vegas and get married by Elvis!!!

Don't let superstition keep you from happiness: elope now, unless of course you're silly enough to believe it too?
