Do boys ever act like "fangirls"?

By "fangirl", I mean do they get obsessed with a certain girl, usually famous or fictional, like what many girls do?

I guess you are kinda new here? Just yesterday some user declared his undying love for Emma Watson. He doesn't even know the girl and has no idea who she is, beyond her public persona.
    Yeah, guys do it too.

Yep, they're called fanboys. I've seen them in many fandoms and depending on the fandom they're just as annoying as the fangirls.

I, a heterosexual male, have been known to screech on more than one occasion.

No, here's why. Boys come out ahead by distributing their sperm to as many low quality fertile females as possible. The QUANTITY of their offspring will ensure that their characteristics survive into future generations. Girls come out ahead by a limited number of pregnancies with high quality males. The QUALITY of their offspring ensures their characteristics survive into future generations.

Though that can't explain behavior for ALL males. Not to mention as gender gaps in behavior shrink by the generation you'll see a lot less of this.

I agree. Birth control is still causing behavioral changes. High IQ for both genders is also becoming increasingly important.
