Different political views.

Your new relation is outstanding ( same hobbies, sex is great ) everything is good. BUT 10 month later you figure out he or she has different political views than you. In fact the total opposite of everything you like.

Would you leave the relation ?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

two peoples' political views are not going to matter in the big picture.
It is certainly nothing to end a relationship for.
Even if you did end things, it is not going to change anyone's mind then you two would be back out in the dreadful world of dating.

I’ve been in this situation twice. The first woman knew we had opposing views and couldn’t keep from blabbing on about her view and trying make me feel wrong for having an opposing view. She was just incessantly annoying. I dumped her for this reason only. The second woman was respectful of my opposing view and me of her’s. We didn’t talk politics often, but when we did it was constructive. We joked that we shouldn’t even vote, because when we left the our respective booths we would have completely offset each other’s votes. This aspect of relationship was perfectly fine.

Politics must not be big in your lives if it took 10 months so what's the big deal?

I don't talk politics with people lol. It gets too complicated. Society is slavery.

My new relation? English must not be your native tongue as relation would mean like a relative, as in a family member.

I wouldn't wanna be someone I didn't share the same political views, or religion with. Honestly, I'm fairly moderate politically, and I have voted both for Democrats, and for Republicans in the past. Right now I would just like to see the marijuana laws change. I think if someone were too far left, or too far right it would turn me off. Honestly, I don't aim to have any sort of sexual intimacy with anyone before knowing that person's political views, religious affiliation, morals and values.

If you don't know all of that stuff about someone at the ten month mark then it looks like you rushed into the relationship.

It has happened to me before. I left the relation because they turned out to be a pos anyway - the political views were just a result of that.

        So it's a hypothetical?

Some people change their views over that amount of time.
