    No, but my granddad did.

    My maternal grandfather fought in WWII. He was a concentration camp liberator.

    My dad did national service.

    ........I feel very lucky.

    I think my father did serve in the army and he had relatives that also did so but, I don't think he ever went to war.

    My dad managed to get discharged right before the draft started. But one of my grandfathers was MIA during WWII. They found him.
