    Loaf of rubbish my mum is a regional manager earns over £48.000 but the regional manager male in the next region earns £52.000 plus yet does same job as my mum also smaller region to boot how is that normal

    Depends on what jop you are talking about, if it's manual labor than sure, most(note I say'most') women can't do as much physical labor as men.

    That's at least partly true. If you take into account job choices and hours worked (including overtime) the "pay gap" shrinks significantly, perhaps to the point of vanishing, depending on who you believe.

        Well for my last 3 jobs I've negotiated a better than advertised salary. At the top level jobs this is expected, my guess is women are just not as good as men at getting more money.

        Maybe the women are expecting their husbands to pay for everything and their job is just something to do while the kids are at school. Take the job you have seriously and you will get a serious salary to match.
