Did the parents on 7th heaven raise the family correctly?

the dad seemed reasonable for a while,but it seemed like he started turning every little problem into a crisis that was deadly serious. even simon drinking a beer at 19 or whatever had the same reaction as when he ran over a kid and killed him. or someone shop lifted a candy bar and had their period. i hate how the dad is always sighing and gritting his teeth and grimacing. it was just such a miserable show but did anybody else think im wrong?

    A couple of my friends were into that gawd-awful show. I couldn't stand how judgmental and fake they were.I used to take very long smoke breaks when they would watch it at our scrapbooking club.

      i heard that too, but i didnt want to say it if i wasnt sure he got convicted or what.
