It doesn't matter now. He is most likely going to spend the remainder of his days in prison.
Unless someone is a complete moron, they have to know the dangers of leaving a child or animal in a car. Something like this makes the news several times a year. So, unless this man is a total idiot it's unlikely that this was an honest mistake.
Another case for "taking out the trash". Execute this one; no trial, no appeals, no compassion. And make it as horribly painful as possible!
It always pisses me off when I am walking through a parking lot at a store and see a dog left unattended in the back seat. Why do these people decide to bring their dogs with them when they know they are going to go shopping and can't bring the dog in? Why not just leave the dog at home? Don't underestimate the rationalizations that go through some peoples heads.
He could remember to take his CFA pop out the car, but forget his child? Right!!!
