Did i receive a communication/message from the dead?

A few years ago, I was bored on a job site (I worked as a security guard then) and picked up a newspaper (which I normally never read.) I ended up reading the obits, that's how bored I was.
I noticed one obituary - a 23-year-old girl (local college student) who died of melanoma a couple days earlier. Cute little thing too, judging by the picture. It bothered me. Tragic... it stuck with me.
I started worrying about melanoma myself (as a 33-year-old guy, if it got her it could sure as hell get me.) So, I went to get my skin examined...
And ended up getting two pre-cancerous moles removed from my neck and shoulder. Reading that obit may have saved my life.
Now here's where it gets weird. A couple years afterward, I picked up the newspaper like I was drawn to it - and there, on the front page, was the full, detailed story of that girl and her battle with cancer. I found out her dying wish was "that no young person should ever have to die of cancer." As I mentioned before, I NEVER read the newspaper - get my news off Google mostly.
Coincidence... or (creepy woo-woo music) no coincidence? What do you all think..?

    that somtimes happens to me.. every time somthing bads going to happen a little fluffy white feather floats down and lands on me... once it happend and i allmost got run over, and once it happend and i allmost drowend...is that a coincedence?

    i believe in these things. Maybe the universe, energy, or God. Because there is this power above us and many times it helps us.. i don't think it was a coincindence :) And u should be thankful..i guess ;p

    It's possible you were guided by someone or some energy.

    I think someone was sending you a sign and like tori said above, I also wish I listened to it more.
