A while ago I tried inserting my first tampon and I accidentally broke my hymen, and I was wondering if I'm still a virgin even though my hymen is destroyed. I'm asking this because I always hear people on this site in the comments say "congratulations you lost your virginity to your hand" just because they broke they're hymen by masturbating, so I was wondering am I still considered a virgin or not even though I've never taken a dick yet? Please don't joke about this, I really want to still be considered a virgin.

    Most people would say you're still a virgin, and I would agree. A bleeding hymen doesn't mean your not a virgin.

    Also important to say that even if you weren't still a virgin, there's nothing wrong having "lost" your virginity. Sex isn't about virginity lost, it's about an experience gained and that's a positive thing.

    This isn't really a question that is at all ambiguous; "Virginity is the state of a person who has never engaged in sexual intercourse", so whoever voted no is an..... oh well.
    As for the OP, " I've never taken a dick yet?" (doesn't sound like a girl, does it?) and the fact that a .005 second search could have answered this question definitively, no pole needed, make me think this is possibly a guy playing games.

    "Virginity" is an absolutely arbitrary thing and nothing is really defined. I define "losing virginity" as "having sex with someone", so masturbation doesn't count towards that.
    However, why would you want to be considered as a virgin? Religious/cultural reasons?

    I would say no. I thought that I have lost my virginity through an almost similar episode and the first time I actually had sex I bled.
