Decoding this confusing shy guy

A few years ago a mutual friend introduced me to this shy guy. We had a great convo together the night and he even gave me the lost puppy dog eyes as I was getting ready to leave. It took me a while to like him more than just friends, but then one night it hit me that I really do like him more than just friends. I told our mutual friend how I felt about this guy and he told me that if this guy does anything odd that it's just because he's shy. Later, we hooked up and everything was fine except he would ignore the vast majority of my texts and all my phone calls. Things would be fine in person, but he doesn't respond to my requests to hang out. What does this mean? Is he a jerk or his he just being shy? Do I just move on and forget about him?

    Maybe he has a "pay-as-you-go" phone and he just doesn't often bother topping up his credit because he doesn't usually contact people via his phone.

    The thing with shy guys is you'll never know the answer if you're not direct. Even then it's iffy..

    Try talking to him and explaining how you feel. If that doesnt work then move on.

    Girl, I dunno or care why old boy's actin' like he does, but never you mind about that mess. If I were you I'd forget about him.

    If he's really shy he probably doesn't use his phone very often, at least not to contact other people. Maybe he doesn't have a lot of friends. Maybe he isn't the type who even likes cell phones? Who knows. You really just need to ask him in person.

    Maybe he's seeing someone else or isn't interested in being in a relationship. You won't know unless you ask him.

      Yes, he was like this before hooking up. It took me a year to even get his phone number.

      Do you think I should keep talking to him in hopes he'll get more comfortable around me?
