When i was 3 or 4 my dad came into my room closed my door and told me to open my legs (i was about to go to sleep and was wearing no underwear just a night gown) i spread my legs and he said he was going to "check me" he looked and touched my private area and said i was "red down there" then he said i needed special cream and then he told me to close my legs and he walked out of my room. He did that a couple times but nothing further happened and i don't think he told my mom because my mum never did that or asked to "check me" and i never went to the drs for it. is this normal? Was my dad just checking me? Why wouldn't he tell my mum? Was this sexual abuse/ sexual in nature? Or is this something normal for a dad to do in secret? Should I tell someone? Im an adult now

      Nee, het is juist goed en zorgzaam van hem om je kutje hierop te controleren. Daarnaast vind ik dat hij ten alle tijde het recht heeft om je kut op deze manier te controleren, ook wanneer je ouder bent. Hij is gewoon bezorgd en wil graag dat jij lichamelijk gezond bent, dus ook bij je kutje

        Heeft hij daarna je kutje nog bekeken of aangeraakt, toen je bijvoorbeeld in de puberteit kwam? Of de ontwikkeling van je schaamhaar of schaamlipjes willen zien?

        Op jonge leeftijd zou ik me niet druk maken om dat je vader je jonge spleetje heeft willen zien en aanraken om deze te controleren.

    One thing to consider: How perfect is your memory of when you were 3 or 4?

    I mean, on the face of it, it sounds suspect, but it's also possible this was legitimate and if you could recall more of the situation it wouldn't seem as weird.

    But whatever the case, I'm not sure what would be gained by telling anyone at this point.
