Yes, it's normal. We don't like offending people and being annoyed by peoples' complaining, much more so peoples' complaining, so we cut them out.

On a personal note, I love swearing, it's fantastic. I can't understand why some people would want to get rid of swearing as swear words and gestures are very often needed to communicate what we want to communicate. More importantly, it's the spice of language and therefore a major spice of life.

  • Not like that. Just remember that there is two types of speaking: Formal and Informal.

Informal is where you are talking with your friends and can use all the bad language you want.

Formal is what you would use on a job interview. I would practice talking in formal for a while to get USED to doing it and eventually, you will be quite good and don't need to censor every thought coming out of your mouth.

I've never 'cut' any cuss words out...I'm either in my vulgar ignorant-of-grammar cussing mode, or I'm in my rhetorical well-rounded grammatically concise mode of speech. Sometimes I like to say a curse word at a moment when it has the absolute worst negative impact; out of nowhere when nobody would ever expect me to say it. It gets the point across vividly and shows that you have guts and that you have utter contempt for something. But just blabbing curse words constantly and carelessly will not get you this kind of impact.

swearing is good as long as you are able to control it in certain situations. some scientists say that swearing is good for your mental health.

  • Sure. Trouble is swearing becomes a habit. Suddenly, at the worse possible moment, out of your mouth comes a foul, steaming four letter word. And you look like a big course twit.
