Crushes on teachers

I know having a crush on your teacher is not a big deal and that it happens to a lot of teens. I wasn't that shocked when I first found myself having a crush on a male teacher, but I've discovered that through out the years I have developed crushes on more than one teacher (all male). Honestly, I'm just confused. Why do I keep developing these crushes? It has not been on every teacher that is male. Physical appearance is a factor with me but I'm not shallow when it comes to looks.

Is there a reason I crush on my guy teachers that I'm not seeing, and is it crazy for me to expect someone out there to have the answer I can't even find myself?

    You like older men who exude intelligence and responsibility. There is nothing abnormal about that.

      If that is true then i had crushes on clowns...who cannot really be that...but are immature but feel victimized by the grown up world

    I'm the exact same way.
    I had a crush on the gym teacher (30ish) in 2nd/3rd grade.
    I had a crush on a substitute (27ish) in the 4th grade.
    I had a crush on the band teacher (30ish) in 6th grade.
    I fell in love with my history teacher (35) in 9th/10th/11th grade.
    I fell in love with another history teacher (41) in 11th/12th grade.
    I had a crush on an english teacher (24) in 12th grade.*

    *Though, I have to say every single girl in the highschool fell in love with that english teacher... He's gorgeous and completely amazing, so that one doesn't exactly count.

    I think, for me anyway, having crushes/ falling in love with older men stems from the problems that my father and I have relating to one another. We often get into fights and for several years, I felt as though I didn't really have a father. I think I began at an early age to attempt to replace the relationship between us with a relationship with an similar adult male figure. Obviously, not a paternal relationship, but it filled the void.
    Maybe this is the same for you?
    But, as others have pointed out, older men are sexy for their intelligence, experience, maturity etc.
    I find that it is easier for me to strike up a conversation with a 30 yr old guy than a fellow 18 yr old any day.

      I had crushes on male and female teachers...probably because my mom and dad were never there. Awww..only to find out that the teachers are just as bad as they are.

    yes to the 'authority is sexy.' in hs I was really involved and got to work with teachers... many male teachers too. they didn't mind giving out cell numbers. after I graduated I realized that some male teachers feel the same way about the girl students... and then text them. hahaha.

    I still have a crush on one of my teachers. He moved away about two years ago. The feeling is not as strong, but I still miss him and wonder where he is and if he is happy, which is all that matters to me.

      I honestly could not care less if any of my teacher crushes died or live a life of sorrow for the rest of their pathetic lives....they are all pricks that abused my respect.

    I'm in the same boat as you and have discovered the reason for me presonally why i keep on developing these crushes...
    Guys my age are so insensitive, brutish and loud - they don't know how to treat girls right. When you have a close contact with an adult man you discover that they are mature enough to look after you - they have years of life experience under their belt (lol) and they aren't as afraid of being themselves.
    Liking older men IS normal - girls mature faster than guys and you having crushes on teachers just show you are a mature human being :)

      In what world do you live in? They want to make you think that they are mature and in control. The older men i had crushes on were even more sensitive and pussy like than any teenage guy. Jeez...you clearly have not lived enough yet to see things as they really are.

    Why? They have life experience. Respect. Authority. Ability to provide. Knowledge. Etc.

    Maybe if you tune into what you like about them, it may tell you a lot about what you like - and want - from a partner. Thats the crush part (mate) but still can tell you about yourself.

    I really don't quite know why you feel it such a mystery. It may be forbidden - oh - well maybe that's something you like too...
