Could you consider overweight people strong?

So I've been thinking about this for some time now. Obviously those who work out a lot and are very muscular are strong and well built, but what about overweight people?

Lets say a man who exercises and works out a lot weighs 250lbs. Clearly he is strong.

What if an overweight man with more or equal weight was to come up and fight with said muscle man? I would assume the heavier person would run out of breath earlier, but I do think he still packs a punch; not like fat is light.

Basically, would you say that heavy people could be considered strong and perhaps suffice in a legitimate battle?

No, they aren't "strong". 17

Fat people are strong, their muscles get built up just by carrying their weight around. Carry around an extra 100 lbs everywhere you go 24/7 and you'd be strong too.

No I wouldn't call it strong. More like dead weight behind the hits, not real power. I dont know how to word it right now, but not strong. They would tire out so quickly and drop.

It depends. Fat people have varying levels of muscle mass and athletic ability, just like thin people.

They're strong. Its a curious combination of fat and muscle.

Sumo wrestlers man. SUMOS!! Fat people that fight. lol It is a true thing, my boyfriend is jacked, but he admits that certain over weight guys might be able to fight him cause their fat #1 Adds girth #2 adds weight to crush him and #3 there is a certain amount of muscle gained from carrying the weight around.

It depends on the kind of fatty. There are those who move around and do things, they got some fat, but they got a lot of muscles underneath it, but there are also the couch potatoes who never lift anything, including themselves, that's just pure tub of lard, no muscles there.

Yes. A friend of mine has a condition that makes her overweight. Looks like an out of shape tub of lard, yet she's stronger then most of my male friends. She's at the gym every day. Newcomers to the gym will think she's an out out shape weakling, but after they see how fast she can run or how much she can lift, they feel stupid.

If you work out enough, some people may get overweight just due to increase in muscle. Technically their bmi is "overweight" but it's still healthy
