Contraceptive implants, is it normal ?!

I know birth control is extreemly important, but I just can't accept the idea of an implant in your arm. Its much too sci-fi to me. And it's so new as a method, I can't believe so many girls/women are trusting it! Yea it's tested, but who knows what it actually leads to later in life... after all it's only had 5 years of usage!! HELLO!

I've seen it in girls arms, and it makes me sick, I'm afraid to tuch them, I find it disgusting that this thing stays there under their skin, you can even move it around. I would feel like I always have to protect my arm and keep it safe if I had an implant.

And the thing that freaks me the most-
"About 1 out of 3 contraceptive implant users have no periods after one year!"
Isn't this just too big of a change in your nature? How can THAT not be bad for your body?!

I've never heard of this before, but it's odd. I find it strange how in modern times many people (mostly women) seek to disrupt their natural bodily systems. Think of all the built up toxins that won't come out of their bodies because they are halting a process. Implanting a arm to prevent cycles is just as disturbing as implanting microchips in people to locate them. This type of science should stay in the confines of a book.

Much longer than five years but I agree that it's a little odd.
