Comparing tattoos to blood draw? iin?

Every time I have to get blood drawn, the stupid phlebotomist makes the comment "oh but you have all those tattoos, this shouldn't bother you!" As if it's the same thing? Tattoos are nothing like having a hollow needle inserted into your vein draining you of blood.

I find this infuriating! I want to tell them to SHUT UP!! But if I did, they'd probably hurt me on purpose.

I'm not scared of needles, I just don't like the feeling of a needle in my vein! I have bad veins too so it's usually a big, long, painful ordeal trying to get blood.

is it normal to be annoyed by this comparison?

i hate to get blood drawn, but have tattoos of my own. if in the right place, getting a tattoo can be enjoyable, from the release of all the endorphins and just the atmosphere itself, but if its in a painful place this doesn't apply. one time (true story) i had to get blood drawn, and the guy must have had about 20 different tubes of different colors and sizes, and they were all for my blood to go in appearantly. so we asked him are these all for us, and he double checked, then said oh, no these aren't all for you, or something dumb like that, and he takes away 3/4 of the bottles. JACKASS. so then he draws my blood and we're all done...only to find that they got lost when they were mailing them to california, and i had to do it all over agian. these people go to college and are this dumb?
