How do people NOT taste the difference...?

I agree, Pepsi is sweeter. I sometimes drink Coca-Cola, then kick myself cos I can't stand that crap.

MUCH better alternative - Phoenix Organic Cola. Not as sweet, natural sweeteners, not as bubbly, doesn't make you feel so gassy and ick.

It's the excitotoxin sodium benzoate and "natural Flavors" with in the ingredients that make it addictive. Though one may not like the flavor, those ingredients are scientifically proven to make a person want more of the product.

In the Coke? That wouldn't surprise me. Ugh.

Actually there isn't any in both i just looked. But "natural flavors" can include the benzoate and other excitotoxins. Did you know that the FDA says that stevia which is derived from an her according to was/is an "unsafe food additive" any ways. Natural isn't "natural" any more. Anyways.

A long time ago the FDA deemed "sassafras oil" to cause cancer and they forced Root Beer Manufacturers to start using synthetic stuff. (Even though, in the "scientific studies" they were pumping UNREAL amounts of the pure oil to the rats... smh)

Hm. I hadn't heard about stevia being unsafe, I haven't really looked into it, tbh. Alls I know is it's the only one I've tried without a horrid aftertaste. Xylitol and stevia tend to be the ones I go for.

I checked Phoenix. Their regular Cola ingredients are: Carbonated water, organic sugar, natural cola flavouring (colour: caramel 150d), organic lemon concentrate. I'm getting a migraine right now so I'm borderline retarded, but it would seem to indicate that there are sulfites and ammonites present in 150d, is that right? No benzoate that I can tell, and I'm rapidly losing vision in one eye, so I'll have to look into this later :/

            Thanks for the info :)

It's from New Zealand so it might not be available over there...it's so much nicer, though.

They are pretty similar, but to me Pepsi is a little sweeter. That is why I like Coke better.

I think that pepsi is fizzier and, yes, sweeter. I like Coca-Cola best!

Pepsi has baby fetus in the ingredients.

      I second this!!

I only drink Sprite, orange, or grape, but it has to be either a Coke or RC product, NOT Pepsi and only RARELY.

Ugh I don't like either, and I swear all the "brown" drinks taste the same to me. Same with the clear ones like sprite and 7 up. I do slightly taste the difference with clear drinks, but only if I drink one right after the other

It's normal.. they both taste the same to me when I've had too much Pepsi. Otherwise, they don't taste the same. Pepsi is much more sweeter, why Coca-Cola is just ..Coca-Cola.

I'm sorry, but no competition. Pepsi sucks ass. From a can it's the worst. It tastes watery and syrupy and too sweet, whereas Coke is crisp and has just the right amount of sweetness and flavor.

They taste the same to me at restaurants but the ones you buy at the store definitely seem different

True, restaurants usually have less fresh/tasteful sodas than a can you just pop open. And I'm pretty sure when it comes from a fountain dispenser that they mix it themselves with the soda company's syrup and soda water, so that may have an effect on it as well.

  • davesumba

Pepsi is sweeter, Coke has more of a bite to it. I really don't care which one restaurants have, though one of my friends will bring in her own Diet Coke if they only sell Pepsi.

Just because it's sugar free doesn't mean drinking excessive amounts of it won't cause a lot of damage over time. Google "Pepsi Max health concerns" or something. You should definitely cut down if you're drinking it everyday.

They are the exact same thing with different packaging, that's all. Everybody knows that. People who think they are any different are just predisposed to believe that because of advertising telling them they are completely different things.
