Something that really stuck with me from his manifesto was when he talked about how when you lose your good name in a way you lose everything. I think for someone like Dorner who was ex-military and then discharged from the police in disgrace, that was in a sense true. His career was over and he had few prospects and it made him snap. I think he could of been innocent of the initial charge.
I'm not defending his actions though. Bad things happen to us all, you're meant to rebuild as best you can and move on. Not go on a killing spree. I wouldn't say there is reason to believe any conspiracy it is all pretty believable. Though there are two copies of the manuscript and it wouldn't surprise if the LAPD added the stuff in the second manuscript to make him look crazier. They are not known for their honest dealing after all...
I haven't followed the case too closely but I'm tending to agree with what you're saying here. I am certain of the corruption in the LAPD... I live on the other side of the country but you wouldn't believe how often I hear about them doing something fucked up. Even in their pursuit of this guy, how many civilians did they hospitalize even though nothing about these people matched any descriptions of Dorner? Wasn't it 4 people?
Thing that scares me the most is that Dorner made some pretty good fucking points in his manifesto... not that he isn't totally nuts, but that just goes to show you how a mind can snap. To be fair.. we don't completely blame the soldiers who come back with PTSD and go nuts, but this guy made a conscious decision to go out and kill. :/
I truly think that he may have been innocent. I mean, I forget exactly how much the bounty was, but it was HUGE. And it wasn't a 'reward' either... it was a BOUNTY! Plus, I've heard the audio of officers yelling 'burn it down! burn it down!' before the cabin caught on fire... And then there was the individual who tried to escape the cabin and was pushed back inside...
There's just too much going on here to really ever know what happened. Those who didn't pay attention to the story when it first broke will probably never know the truth because the story changed too many damn times.
Besides, this was mainly a distraction from the SOTU address.
Not disagreeing with you by any means but after reading all the info about how he was fired I'm not so sure he wasn't setup because he wouldn't let it go and therefore may have been just trying to protect hisself while trying to prove his innocence. It just leaves me to question how it all went down. Just have an uneasy feeling there is a lot behind the scenes that are being suppressed. So I just wanted to hear others' opinions. Thanks for your response. :)
:) I understand, and I also question whether those things were truly his words. If all of this is truly his actions and he is the monster the media shows him to be then so be it and he is now one less we need to worry about. All the evidence against him has just been so questionably abundant and easy.
