Christmas! :)

Okay, so i have some crazy obsession with Christmas. It's not that i only like it because of presents, but i love it because i'm with my whole family and everyone seems so much happier.
I get to play in the snow with my cousins and our moms bring us hot cocoa, and we have a HUGE dinner. I just LOVE IT so much. Is that normal?

Yes, it's normal 19

I like the part where they staple Santa to the tree!

I normally love Christmas, but I'm nervous about it this year.

Yes, it's normal. I love Christmas. Food, presents, Spanish drunk people cursing at each other for no reason. Magical.

My aunt likes it purely because it means she gets to buy fucking annoying animated singing toys n shit. She has a trio of toys that sing together, a line each, of a Christmas song. And a singing vampire (I don't know either...). And a 'pull my finger' Santa (classy...) And about 500 other fucking annoying things.

So you're saner than her ;) At least you got nice reasons for liking it :)

My mother in law has at least 5 Nativity scenes. Little Christmas villages are on every available surface. There is shreded plastic to mimic snow around said villages. Her tree is fake and looks the same every year. Which is sad because Christmas trees grow wild around here. Singing toys are everywhere. And outside...at least the snow is real. I try not to judge her purchasing choices.

But lots of food, hot cocoa, and playing in snow is a great reason to be happy.

Sounds like my mom! She got a Christmas village as a gift ages ago and ever since she's been buying more additions to it from thrift shops, along with nativity scenes. Fake tree too, even though there's no shortage of pine trees everywhere. She's really into Christmas.

She has had some of her decorations since the 70's, and a few of them actually are kinda cool. I'm not religious or big into knick knacks and decorating so my house stays plain, save for the fake Charlie Brown x-mas tree I bought last year. It's cute and it suits my style.

Hahaha! Ah it's so much more entertaining when it's not something I have to actually deal with...

I thought about buying my aunt an inflatable 10ft high nativity scene one year. But I don't know I want to encourage her...

My sister in-law is the same. Her husband surprised her by putting out all the outdoor christmas decorations last weekend. It's a crazy scene of inflatable snowmen, santa, reindeer, etc.

          I really don't get it.

Oh my god. It's over a month away :-S

That reminded me of my uncle (not married to, or even blood related to aforementioned aunt). He's had tinsel up in their house since...oooh...Xmas 2000? Maybe earlier, I can't remember when they moved in. He's literally coated the ceiling with it - not an inch remains visible. He also has other Xmas traditions, but I can't talk about them. Bad memories.

Yeah, my in-laws are a rare breed. But they mean well.

And I always hated tinsel. How did he get it to stick to the ceiling?
