I've got friends that go to anime conventions where people cosplay and apparently "crossplay" is a pretty big at those. They've told me its really hard to tell a lot of times until they speak.
Personally if I've ever been fooled I didn't know it, but I doubt I've come across any. There's a guy at school who does sometimes, but his stubble gives him away.
