Censor boobies and spoon-feed violence

I have a hard time accepting that, for example:
i could play GTA san andreas, throw grenades to blow passing cars up with innocent civilians in them...

BUT...

they censored a part of the game "hot coffee" where you see the player have DRY sex with his girlfriend on a date.

i don't find it normal that we could show kids all that disgusting free violence which doing such things in real life would be soooo illegal, but we can't EVER show them something so ordinary and natural and socially acceptable like having a wine-dine-69.

WHAT... the...hell? it's like violence is right and treating a girl "ok" is wrong. mind you, in the same game you could pick up hookers, fuck them, and then kill them and take their money.

do any of you find this normal? let me know.

P.S.: i'm 25, and i really do enjoy the game, it'S a game, it's fun and i like it, i'm just saying, you know

It's completely against logic. Violence = anger, revenge, pain, death. Sex = orgasm, love, marriage, children. Violence is only negative and sex is largely positive. Violence shuffles people out of this world, and sex ushers in new life.

I'm not suggesting we sit down in family groups and watch hard-core pornography but nor should we censor it and treat sex as something dirty, perverting, and corrupt.

no, i wouldn't let my kids watch hardcore porn either! but in some way i'd have a lesser hard time accepting them watching porn then watching "saw 3" or something.

I know what you mean, but it's strange when you think about isn't it? Why would we even consider letting our kids watch representations of people being murdered? And, more to the point, let them watch it as entertainment. It's a societal norm and one that perhaps needs questioning.

    I dont get it either.

*watching movie in theater, Guys head is decapitated with razor wire, tons of blood.* *later scene: Womans bra slips, exposing single nipple. People in audience gasp*

Next day, many complaints about the woman's nipple being shown.

"What about the decapitation"? many raves.

    BTW, This is in America.

I hear its the opposite in europe. (Makes more sense)

  • Yes I agree. Have you seen the film "The people vs Larry Flynt"? It's the true story of Larry Flynt who founded Hustler magazine. He went through one of the longest and most expensive court cases in the US over the right to freedom of speech and also states this exact same thing. It's definitely worth a watch.

i dont agree with censoring games or movies because people are scared that their kids might see it. simple - put an 18+ stamp on it and parents need to take responsibility for what their kids are looking at. but no matter is done or said, there is always going to be someone to complain and ruin it for the rest of us.

interesting, but let me point out... or question again... religion promotes violence? i mean, i know a little about the catholic faith, and the first commandment is "thou shall not kill" or something like that. there ain't no commandment about having sex with your girlfriend though.
it'S just a weird paradox or something. and we could go for hours. yeah, so, europe huh?
