I personally feel like the word should be used to describe something enormous, instead of ill tempers

For instance:

Her derrière was cantankerous! Wobbling and shaking with each step!

It's better fitting for that.

    It's normal to want to use words that way. Though when I think of "cantankerous booty" I think of really bad gas.

    Sure. Like condescending is a fugitive going down. I got some context when I gave that jailbird my cell phone number. Or hypocritical is a water horse in need of medical attention asap.
