Can you have herpes without having sex?

I was just wondering if people could have herpes without having done any sexual activity??? because im worried that i may have some sort of disease -i've got pimples all over my back, a few on my legs & some on my bum, im not sure if i have some around my vaginal area as it gets itchy down there except some don't feel or look like pimples. i feel my vagina heat up sometimes. is that normal? should i be worried? see the doc?

    I'm starting to get sick of these 'medical mystery' posts. Instead of posting here why don't you search Google-there's tons of medical info on there or better yet see a doctor, plain and simple.

    Yes you get them through contact. So if someone has mouth herpes and kisses you chance is that you will get it. You can get it through sex by touching the infected area. Some women have sadly given their babies mouth herpes when born since they were infected with herpes. Cold sores are a type of herpes and can also be spread this way.

    Genital herpes can be spread by someone with a cold sore on their lip(s) giving you oral sex without a barrier.

    technically, if you've ever had a canker sore on your lip, you've had herpes.

    so to answer the initial question, yeah, totally possible.

    Actually, it doesn't really sound like herpes at all, except for the slim possibility of herpes zoster, which seems quite unlikely from your discription.

    I agree that you should see a doctor, but I do not believe that you have some sort of contageous disease.

    Yes. Shooting up together with the same needles or cutting each other and then hugging, that does the trick.
