I think you can fall in love with the idea of them through text, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating (that's not a sexual innuendo).
In other words, whether or not their digital self truly represents their real self (that's not a line from The Matrix) kind of determines whether or not your love is for them or in fact what you imagine them to be.
I don't think so. It takes communication through actually "seeing" them, actually "hearing" them and wouldn't you want to fall in love with someone that you can actually be around and touch. I wouldn't ever want to date someone if it was just texting. I would want to see them, hear them and touch them. I don't think just seeing words means anything, it could be anyone and there is no actual emotion involved.
You can fall in love but you need to meet him/her so you can actially hang out / date
Falling in love with someone through texts is like falling in love with a sitcom actor. The lines are pre-written. The lines are said to impress you and lift up their ego. When meeting up in real life, you have to get to know an entirely different person.
You can fall in love with someone without even talking to them. I'd say yes.
