Ever since my parents split and got divorced I felt I lost smethng espically my dad who I was close to, but I can't talk or have a freaking convo with my mom and we can't agree on anythng either. But I can talk about anythng and everythng with my step mother I don't get why this is.
I used to get along with my stepdad better than my mom... I think it's totally normal because you know a step-parent (since they're not your real parent) will not judge you as harshly or punish you and they kind of wanna be on your good side so they will be more likely to advise you than lecture you. More like a friend, less like a parent :) it's REALLY normal!!!
mothers, aunties, fathers, brothers, sisters, uncles, there all just people. some people you get along with, others you dont. for instance i cant tell my father anything. but openly share my feelings and opinions with my gran.
Hard to say though people don't always appreciate how tough divorce is on the kids with all the changes they have to make.
I think its good of you to connect with your step-mother, even though you miss Dad and things with mom and you aren't so hot at the moment.
Have you thought of talking about this more with a school or youth counsellor? It could help because you really seem to be trying to make things work for the better for you and your entire family.
