Can't stand this world

I cannot stand this world. I am sensitive to the slightest sound so I struggle to sleep anywhere. And most places are so noisy, I literally don't get sleep and I am feeling like I am cracking up.

I haven't got work (virtually unemployable) but wouldn't cope with the noise, lights, perfumes etc of people if I did.

I really need to be a recluse but don't have the money to afford it. Nor can I afford therapy. Meanwhile, I think I am cracking up because of it all.

Know of any other world that you can go to?
It would be pretty easy to get away from society and live in a quiet place w/o other people around. A high mountain cabin, for instance, where you could hunt and have a garden.
I chose living on a boat which suits my need for solitude, or at least staying as far from civilization and the rat race as I can imagine.

Have you read Elaine Aaron's book The Highly Sensitive Person? Might be helpful or at least help you feel less alone.

You'd better find a way, you'd better do it soon
It's like the middle of May and you've only got 'til June
If I'm forced to watch you touch the torch to that spoon
Even one more time, I swear to God I'm gonna implode
Sky's too high to hold; too thick to pet
So fold up your two-bits and hide them in your wallet
In your pocket full of trauma, in love notes you wrote to the angels
Gathered around the pole, crude and star-strangled
The band turned; married in the bed made from propaganda
I've roamed the avenues of humility
And I've kept a toothbrush in the glove compartment
    Next to the napkins
For when I'm finally privileged and touched with a permanent address
But I'll be relaxed after this gin and tonic
And I'll bless your track after the impact of a comet
And I'll pay the mortgage after I finish paying homage
    I promise, consider it accomplished!
For every cigarette butt that's tried to climb out of my ashtray
Signifies another phase in this cascade
    The great mind, great migraine

We think it's difficult enough to just live much less gain
Well I put my two bucks on the table just like the sign says
Proceeded to ask God to give me one good reason why we shouldn't perish
She says as careless as we are, unstable as we seem
Selected few of y'all have found something to cherish
I countered that, maybe just to be argumentative, I don't know
But I was like yo, can't we spare the ones that are worth it?
She was like NO, I need the comparisons
I think she could tell by the way I responded that I'm getting a little nervous
So I went far left and just said thank you
Thank you for the time, for the mind
For the breath, for the flesh
Thank you for the quest, thank you for the vision
This vision that spawns anxiety trying to see
    and feel why I'm living
Time is money, every moment is costly
So I ration emotion because existence exhausts me
    Oddly enough, I'm happy I ain't famous
Imagine waking up to the fact that you're simply entertainment
I bet god thinks you're amusing.

Watch a 1990s movie, considered a classic, called "American Beauty". It'll make you laugh, and it will make you cry. But at least you'll learn that there is so much beauty in this world and if you keep a negative attitude then you won't see it.

I was referring to the part where he watches a plastic bag (litter) blowing in the wind and sees the beauty of it. In certain parts of the world, like what I've mentioned above, if you can view litter as beautiful then your world will be beautiful. It was more a joke, really.

Sounds like a wise saying actually.

Or he/she could watch a film called "noise" about a man who becomes some kind of vigilante fighting all the unnecessary noise the modern world creates.
      lol

            • Its one of my favorite movies. It is underrated. The main characters are played by Keanu Reeves, Robert Downey jr, Woody Harrelson, and Winona Ryder. It is kind of a trippy independent film, but with a really involved plot. It is based on the book A Scanner Darkly by philip K. Dick, the same guy that wrote Minority Report and Blade Runner.
