Can't keep fingers out of my ears

I keep scratching around in my ears!! Lately, like in the last 6 months to a year, I've been developing more earwax and I just can't stop waggling my fingers about trying to extract as much of it as possible. I'll poke in deep and waggle if it's soft wax and scratch the inside with my nails if it's dried.

Often it really feckin hurts and I make my ear skin bleed and sh*t.

Dunno what to do about it

When you get alot of wax in your ears like that you can go to a doctor and they will clean most of it out for you. The only reason you get all of it is because it can be a health hazard to have none at all. Honestly, you are probably exacerbating the problem by picking at it, your ears respond to irritation by producing more wax and you get bothered by this so you scratch your ears, which further irritates them. Go see a doctor. Stuff like this happens all the time and they will have the appropriate tools to deal with it on hand.

Go see a doctor. Good luck with your ears. I signed up specifically so I could respond to this thread.

It's just a habit, and fairly normal. Maybe you like the wax in there b/c it feels so good to clean it out. Use cotton balls or q-tips, or even a tissue rolled up to a point. Use peroxide, too. Really cleans well.

You should see a doctor and have them remove the wax for you, since you are only hurting yourself trying to remove the wax. You might have an ear infection or an infection of the skin too.

BTW, if you have eczema or psoriasis you can get a lot of build up in your ears of this dry flaky stuff. A doctor can give you stuff that works on it. I have the same problem, starting a year ago. After Googling about it, I started to just spray a dab of Flonase (nasal spray, a steroid) on my pinky finger and wipe the inside of each ear once every week or so. That's cleared it right up and easier than going to a doctor.

It's compulsive, like biting ones nails. You probably do it without thinking. Try keeping your hands occupied in other ways. Wear gloves or mitts if necessary. Try ear muffs. See a doctor if it continues - you could end up with an infection or damage the ear canal or drum.

You might want to consult a ear doctor about that. It sounds rather odd, and - I'm no medical doctor - a little abnormal.

Go to a doc & get your ears cleaned out. Also, stop being a filthy fuck & learn to have good hygiene.
