The moment she (my GF) spreads her legs, a terrible smell fills up the room! the smell is so bad that I feel like throwing up. She is not asking directly but I can tell that she wants me to eat her out. Which makes my problem worse!

She's either has a infection or she isn't washing herself properly. I heard that this woman had sex with bill maher and claim that there was a horrible smell, but she had sex with him anyway. It sounds like she needs to clean up a bit. I'm guessing you are young and both relatively inexperienced with sex. When I was in high school my girlfriend had a rather strong odor because she didn't clean well enough.
Fast forward a decade and any adult woman I've been with including my wife has a much milder smell. It's never going to smell like roses, but with proper hygiene it shouldn't be overpowering. Don't encourage her to douche though as that can be unhealthy.
When the smell isn't overpowering it is actually kind of a turn on.
For some reason, any post that says anything to do with vaginal odor always makes me think of those Vagisil commercials. Damn Vagisil commercials... 20 or 30 years ago, people wouldn't have ever considered letting something like that air on public television. People have become desensitized.
