Can someone be unknowingly kind?

I sometimes end up cheering people up without realizing it. I often dont understand why these people care either. A lot of times all I did was talk to them and they were so happy about it. Sometimes I simply advised them on various things. Am I just kind without realizing it? It confuses me when people are happy since I dont feel like I really did anything for them. Why would they be so happy with me?

    Some people are not use to general kindness. When they experience it, they either think you are fake, or they are genuinely happy about it.

    I like being nice. I like being friendly. I like that when I smile, people smile back. People are good to me. So I am happy. I never once questioned why people like my presence.

    Why wouldn't soneone be happy to talk to you?

      Since I am not trying to make them happy. Usually when this happens I am just talking to them. I dont know why people care so much that I simply listened to them. Wouldn't it be rude to ignore the fact they exist?

        You probably don't need to try as it comes naturally. Think of it as your default setting.

    Yes, because kindness is behavioural. However, one CAN'T be unknowingly good, as goodness is a quality of character.

    Yeah, some people -like yourself seemingly - are better people than they realise.

    I know at least one person like that, who since I met her has done countless good deeds, said some of the most amazing things & all without thinking anything of it. When I point it out to her she's convinced that anyone would do or think the same.
    She's wrong...

    I wish I could remember every single beautiful thing she's ever done & tell her all at once & maybe she would begin to understand
