Can i use my green card or passport as photo id in a dental appointment?

So i’m 18 and I don’t have a drivers license or a state id yet. I have dental appointment today and an employee asked me to bring a photo ID with me. Can I use my green card or passport instead?

Since when do you need a photo ID for a dental appointment? I have never, ever been asked to do that. But since you want to troll... a photo ID is a photo ID no matter where it is from.

    • I’m not trolling. In America, some clinics ask you to show a photo id and/or insurance card if you’re new, some don’t tho. They wouldnt ask you for a photo if you have been going there before you turned 18.

Insurance card, yes I can believe that. But never a photo ID or a passport. Even when I went for a first visit, have I been asked to produce a photo ID.

        • What will I gain for asking/trolling about something like this? lol. Have you visited every clinic in America? Every clinic has different rules and regulations. How am I suppose to know why they need to see an ID?🤷‍♀️

Having a photo ID has nothing to do with insurance fraud. The provider commits the fraud, not you, and they wouldn't care if you are who you say you are, or not. They just want proof that you have proof of insurance. A photo ID does not do that. You must be the OP on this one.

so one person in town can git insurance and have all theys friends & family go in and claim to be that person and use the insurance and that aint fraud?

Well by that asinine rational couldn't all "theys" friends also "git" a fake photo ID? It doesn't change the initial premise. you're still trolling.

You should be able to since it is government issued. You should call your dentist first to make sure.
