When I go to the psychiatrist, will telling them that I have a desire to eat someone or inject acid into someone’s brain result in me getting sent to the looney bin? I’m just wondering if I should actually say these things. Will the psychiatrist say it’s normal?

They are legally bound to privacy unless you have indications of being an immediate threat to another (and that must be very clear).
They likely have heard others tell them that before (or have read of cases). So they are not going to be surprised.

I agree, telling them about these fantasizes will help you get better by exploring them. They wont commit you unless they are worried youll actually act on it. And even if they do commit you, its better to have that and work through it than live the rest of your life struggling.
