Can i slow time down?

Well to start off. I went to the gym today I did a breathing exercises before I got on the tredmill like I always do I started as a 2.0 than worked my way to 8.0 I was running at a good speed.

I don't know why but I started to do the Breathing exercises again while running That when I felt a burst of energy What I first notice is the T.V's that are on the wall seemed to be in slow motion I thought nothing of it until I looked at this lady on the tredmill next to me running in slow motion and the cars outside was driving by slow It scared me enough to throw me off the machine.

When I got up every thing was normal the lady asked if I was ok I said yea besides the rug burn in my left side.Later at home I tryed the Double breathing exercises again this time It Worked! My Heart started to race Every one out side was in slow-mo even the flys around there were visibliy slow flying.

I don't know what happen after that I must of passed out because of exhaustion. Now my chest hurts and a hangover like head ache

It's actually because your own body goes into what's known as 'Flow', but in an extreme fashion.

Flow is when a whole load of factors mean that you're in perfect physical state for a physical activity, and your body performs outstandingly.

What happens here is you've worked out a way of telling your brain that you're in Flow, and it tries to go into Hyperdrive (for some unknown reason); every single process in your body speeds up: you respirate (digest and breathe) more, you also digest excess fat like when you go hungry, and you get and use a whole load more energy. This means that your brain runs faster than normal, meaning that everything else seems slower than normal.

But this is not good for you at all: it means your body is doing wa-ay too much. It's like not exercising for ages, then going straight into doing 100 sit-ups, press-ups and squats all in five minutes! You then get a blackout when your body runs out, and you wake up with this hangover thing from the exhaustion.

But with the sort of training Ehhmoo talks about, you might be able to handle this (like regularly working out to build up your muscles for the exercise).

    Hope I helped!

Yeah, the "hangover" part of your story indicates that you were drunk the whole time and thought you were a superhero. That's hilarious!

    I know the exact feeling,
I pass out sometimes after over exerting myself or having blood taken
These double breathing excercises are probably doing what having blood taken does to me,
your brain is suddenly getting much less oxygen panics and shuts down.

The slow motion effect is something that happens to me just before i pass out, if it happens again you need to lie down on your side and deep breathe until the sensation passes.

  • I wish this was truly possible for people to just slow time down for themselves. I'm not sure if this is what you meant as I truly could not understand your writing but I would love to slow down time and take a few days just to relax. Multiple Sclerosis really drains me and wears me out and I could use the time to study or finish something I started working on.

It sounds like you've acquired that certain point of calm that breathing exercises in my martial art try to teach.

The object is to be so completely calm and focused, you kind of have an "out-of-body" experience.

    Three years black belt and I still haven't reached that point. -.-;
    Does it feel like that?
If so, awesome! Just remember to continue breathing when you're in that state.

If not...I have no idea actually. Maybe you're enlightened or something.

That's so strange it sounds like you've got super-human abilities. Slowing down time would be very useful so practice it :D

Ye - theres a few explenations for this - no your not slowing down time as only you can see it.

if you are exhausted then your most likely just feeling faint.
whilst you may not necessarily feel faint - your body may be weak from the work.
so as you feel faint everything appears to go slowly. the same happens if you have an anesthetic to go to sleep. everything seems to slow down before u pass out.

its normal dude. dont worry about it.
