Can having sex with a girl change how i feel about her?

I'm 19 years old, and I've been in love with this girl for a year now, I love her so much I would even take a bullet for her. I've never had sex before, and Im scared that if I did my feelings towards her will change, and she's just the love of my life I don't want that to change. I'm really sacred about this. Can you guys tell me your thoughts on this and what I should do?
