This keeps coming up alot these days. Can guys & girls really just be friends without either of them wanting more??

I think guys & girls can as long as it's a environment like class or work but outside when it's just u & them alone in your room then I don't think it's as innocent as people make it out to be on both Parts. It's Human nature....

    By your logic, bisexuals can't have friends. Just because you're attracted to someone doesn't mean you can't be friends with them.

    My guy friends are like my brothers. They are separate from guys I'm physically attracted to and have relationships with.

    I have had (and still do) some very close female friends.
    It depends on the foundation of the relationship. If your relationship is founded in a sexual context, the nature of your friendship will change. Unless you form a life-long loving bond, that friendship will usually end when you separate.

    It's possible no matter what orientation your friends are. It just depends on the people and how the relationship formed.

    I have had quite a few male best friends with nothing sexual happening. Hell, I don't hug unless a special occasion lol. Unfortunately, my bf doesn't think that guys and gals can be friends so I'm forced to be nice to girls. blah.

    Yes guys and girls can be just friends. I don't mean to sound rude but there are many factors that have to be at play in order for someone to find the other attractive. If you don't find the person attractive then you probably will not develop feelings for the girl. Also, if one member of the friendship begins opening up his feelings then he has solidified the friendship. The corner stone of friendship is trust and honesty and when one person begins opening up then the friendship has been cemented. In conclusion, a friend and a mate can have the same characteristics but there are many factors that have play out in order for feelings to develop.

          That's great. But I still think these kind of friendships between men and women are uncommon. I can only think of little men who'd do the same thing as you would. Since you wouldn't have sex with your attractive female friends, I guess it's possible (though unlikely in most cases)

    No its not possible, unless one or both are lesbian/gay. If its 2 members of the opposite sex, who are straight the friendship isnt the same as a same sex friendship. There would have to be some sexual tension. And usually what happens is one person ends up emotionally attached to the other and the other one hurts them very badly because of it, you know the old rhyme of "I just like you as a friend" translation: I am not attracted to you.

    Being friends at "work" or "school" is slightly different, that can work, provided all interactions are JUST at work or school. And also its not really being "friends" more of just being "social".
