Yes. One of my good friends... people asked if we were dating cos we hung out a lot, but we really were just friends. Actually he felt a bit like a brother or a cousin.

One day he told me that there was a girl he really had strong feelings for and I... all I could think was "O god.. no!" cos I thought he meant me.

Thankfully... it wasn't me - it was another one of our friends who - to his joy - had a crush on him too. They dated for a couple of years and then tied the knot. ;-)

ya i thought it was sweet.

the cutest was when the two of them, one of my other friends and i all went to disney for the day (tokyo). the other friend and i kept hanging back together to let them have time alone.

cute because hey it's fun seeing friends you care about so happy.
and cute because the "other friend" became the love of my life. ;)

so it kinda became a double date, only he and i weren't dating yet.

I'm a girl and I have a boyfriend and about 6 close friends who are all guys. I feel nothing towards any of them, except my boyfriend of course. I still felt that way long before I had my boyfriend.

idk, this is a year old, and most of my comments are my first knee-jerk reaction. But Normally i think there is some level of attraction by people of opposite gender ( assuming they are both straight) and are friends

    Hiya,

Yes. I get on better with men because they tend to be more likely to share my interests, which means we can chat for ages – but it does look a bit strange because I look young. I don’t know why but my taste seems to be quite a male thing, even the quieter side of it. I’m a bearded old rocker/folkie in a young woman’s body and they think it’s brilliant.

I just can’t talk about music with most women, they don’t get my level of interest at all.

    No, I'm a girl.

The reason why I say this is because, to be friends, you have to at least enjoy each others' company. Also familiarity breeds fondness, so the more you hang out with your friend, the more you usually start to like them. This means that, to some extent, a guy and a girl who are straight will have at least some extent of romantic feelings from at least one of them. I'm not saying that they want to start a relationship or anything, but there will always be that little likeness to the opposite sex.

    Yeah, totally.

I'm (primarily) a lesbian, and have a gay guy friend(not close, but hey). ^_^
It's fun if we meet and go "hunting" together.

anyway, i think it's possible, but only in a clique kind of way. 1 on 1 friendships and time spent alone eventually lead to more or the end of friendship, imhe.

In my experience there's always one "friend" from the opposite sex that gets singled out as the potential mate. It's never as simple as people make it

No. They can be acquaintances who for some reason do not fuck. Or merely a strategic move. Crass?

Girl "I have lots of guy friends"
Me "do they try to touch or stare at your boobs?"
    Girl " you're a jerk."
    Me "thought so."

I can happily sit with the lads in the bar and think nothing of it - although their wives aren't too happy about it.

If one of the two is ugly and/or poor, sure.

Rarely. I won't even go out with a girl that says the infamous line "I only have guy friends." That's a cause for distrust right out of the gate.

If you didn't want me groping them, you wouldn't of worn a bra-less white v-neck t-shirt in the rain, now would you?

Better not tell JustinBiebsfan about this, he might get jealous. :P

It all depends. I've had friends of both sexes. To of my guy friends seemed to have feelings on me which was awkward because I had none for them. Thankfully, they never told me their feelings. There's a friend of mine that I ended up developing feelings for and sometimes I wish he would feel the same, but it's hard to know...

I think friends who do or don't have feelings for each other can still work things out. Sometimes, the friendship can be ruined if the two start to date or admit their feelings, but it can work out for the better.

I have several very close friends that are girls, a couple of them quite beautiful! I go to their houses, or they come to mine, or we road trip, whatever we do, we can get drunk just the two of us and a problem has never come up yet!

Yes, I'm a straight guy and have more than one female friend for which I have no romantic or sexual feelings, thoughts or desires.

Effectively, If I meet a cool girl who is not my type, she gets friend-zoned.

...By the way, this has been asked here before.

  • Wow, this never got asked before.

No they cant, UNLESS one or both are gay. Even then it can cause problems, if both are heterosexual, why wouldnt they be attracted to one another if they get along so good as friends?

I've historically gotten along better with women than with men, for whatever reason. Many of my closer friends have been women. Some I've slept with, some I've flirted with, some I've had no romantic/sexual tension with at all. But it's possible.
