Can an infertile couple have biologically related kids?

Situation: A couple, where neither the husband nor wife is fertile, want kids but instead of adopting they want the child to be biologically related to them.

Is this possible? Would they have to use the eggs and/or sperm from someone they are related to?

If they're both infertile, no I'd say not.

I worked for a gay couple who had their own kids. One dad was the biological dad, the other dad's sister was their egg donor. They used a surrogate in the states.

Closest they could get to their "own" biological children, I guess.

This really depends on their particular fertility issues. Its possible that their sperm and eggs could be fertilized by artificial means and carried to term by her. Or one, or both, of their specific infertility issues may prevent this. If that is not an option for them, and the child is to have completely different biological parents; obviously your friends would need to be biologically related to birth parents to be biologically related to the child.

Isn't the answer obvious? You've answered it yourself
