Bulging while on your period.

I'm 21 & 110 pounds and I look a month pregnant, but I know I'm not prenant because I'm currently on my period. I also know it can't be bloating because I've this going on before my period started. I've been insecure about my stomach so I got a gym membership so I've been running on the tredmill, & doing crunches. In result of doing crunches it made my stomach hard. I don't eat much junk food expect burgers, but I need the red meat due to the fact I'm anemic. If anyone else has had this problem, HELP, I wanna tone up before the summer!

  • Bloating is so common. And my boobs get so tender it's not funny. But it sounds like you might have some other stuff going on. You say you're anemic and you do, given your physical activity, seem a bit thin. Rather than red meat, which we don't know how your body metabolizes, why not try a supplement?

  • You can bloat before the actual period starts, I bloat a week before (my boobs and tummy mostly) and it can either last through the period or it goes when I start.

It's good that you are exercising though and don't worry too much over it.

In response to the red meat and anaemia part, have you tried spatone? It's made for pregnant women but it's good for anyone, I have low body iron stores due to an illness I have and this keeps me topped up and balanced, also red meat is very hard to digest, you sure you're not constipated from so much red meat??? This will make you look pregnant!!

You're 110 and you're worried about looking fat?

Unless you're 4 feet tall, that's not fat.

  • 21 and only 110 pounds? Girl that's underweight! You must be tiny! The normal weight is 130. But I guess everyone has different body types and stuff.

depends on how tall she is. if she's short like i am, then it's a perfectly healthy (by bmi standards) weight.

I think you are over-exaggerating your belly. I'm sure you look fine.

Eating too much pizza will make me look 3 months pregnant, regardless of when my period is.

And you do not "need" red meat. But I know some people really like their beef. You can get plenty of iron from dark leafy green vegetables, beans and legumes (although this may cause bloating,)almonds, oatmeal, cereal, blackstrap molasses, as well as other meats. I'm not saying to stop your cow intake, just supplement your diet with a variety of iron sources.

Wheat can inhibit the absorption of iron as well as calcium. So that cheeseburger may not be as beneficial as you think. Iron taken with vitamin C will be more efficient, especially iron found in meat sources of food.
