Why is it that it is "taboo" for an older brother's friend to date his little sister? It's like the greatest sin or something. And is this a normal thing among older brothers with younger sisters?
FYI, I have an older brother, and I am the younger sister. Is it normal for big brothers to be like that?

Normal. Most brothers, older or younger, are protective, especially if they know the friend who's after the sister is a user or scumbag. In my own case, since my older sister was notably hot and beautiful, my friends were after her all the time. After I got tired of the questions and requests to set them up with her, call when she was home so they could come over, etc, I told them "No way. Ever".
same problem with my sister m 21 and my sis has just turned 16 i was walking to the shop and i see my mate drive past with her in the car s i ring him there and then askng wtf r u doin and he says he see her walking home and gave her a lift so i thought nothing of it, next week im in my local having a beer with the same mate who i have know for 11 years when he says to me hes in love with my sister i found that quite peodoflic so i grabed hes nuts with one hand pulled out my knife with the other and said if i see him so much as speak to my sister he wll never look at a women the same way again with that he pissed himself n front of everyone i havnt seen him since sometimes i regret it but most of the time i know it was for the best cause now she is going out with someone her own age who is a cool kid but he still got the same warning.

unless the brother say yes, 99% of the guys wont go for it, and thats how it is.
he might also know something about this guy, that is not so nice for example how he talks about girls or how he treats girls. Probs wouldn't want you treated or talked about in that way.
Also it puts his friendship in a bad place, they couldn't talk about girls anymore because you are the girl he would be seeing. After you break up you most likly won't want this friend around to your house anymore.
Think about it fron your brothers pov it puts him in a very awarked spot

Yeah, I've seen this happen. There could be many reasons and factors but I think part of it is because they are being protective and part of it is that it kind of grosses them out to think of their younger sister in that way, getting intimate with a friend of theirs.

Yes that gfigo really said it best -- its against guy code. Its a very complex issue. I will say, that i think i lost the potential best love of my life due to this guy code. But its just how it is, and needs to be respected. There are many guys out there, leave your brothers friends off-limits.
