Loved it too - kind of tragic they didn't make more episodes. Could have easily gone on a couple of series (seasons).

I think it was just enough! Thats part of what makes it special! Dean Learner's was kind of boring, though...

Benny Hill was THE one, IMO.

    • Wrong, "The One" was actually a man called John Hancock. His show 'Hancock's Half Hour' was the beginning of British cult comedy. The show all so stared Syd James who latter made all those shitty 'Carry on' movies.

Garth Marenghi, Alan Partridge and The Office are especially hilarious. I'd also like to add a show called "The Revolution Will Be Televised", which really cracked me up.

My one small criticism of a lot of comedy shows, The Office in particular, is that they are gratuitously mean and snarky. The Office is one of my favourite shows, but it represents a lot of comedy shows which don't seem to realise that meanness isn't a necessary ingredient. Maybe meanness is what makes a show "cult" for some people, but that doesn't work for me. Gavin and Stacey one of my favourite "cult" comedies, and that show doesn't have a mean bone in its body. The characters are as off-beat as any other "cult" show, but we're shown how to love them more than laugh at them.

I voted Fry and Laurie.. I love Hugh Laurie in comedies but I dislike House...I LOVE Father Ted.I guess its an Irish-com but Im American so I tend to lump them together.
I also love Fawlty Towers, Manuel is my favorite character...his pet rat, "is Siberian Hamster! Filligree!"

I like to laugh AT pathetic people. East Enders are pathetic. Derisive audiences arise!

I really love 'Human Remains'. Very bleak, but really funny. Rob Brydon before 'Marion and Geoff' and numerous panel shows and Julia Davis before 'Nighty Night'.

Nighty Night gave me jaw-ache from all the cringing. Darker than 80% cocoa chocolate.

I really enjoyed That Mitchell and Webb Look. My favorite skit was Sir Digby Chicken Caesar.

If you get a chance check out "Nathan Barley"
It's a mid noughties comedy lampooning the rise of hipsters.

Inbetweeners FTW. They attempted to make a shitty American version of that show. What a travesty.
